About Bunzl plc
Distribution and outsourcing group Bunzl was formed in the 1940's It's origins date back another 100 years. The group expanded rapidly through its cigarette filter business Filtrona, though this was demerged in June 2005 and the group now focuses on its food packaging and cleaning products operations.

The Bunzl Board is recommending a final dividend of 50.1p, 10.4% higher than the prior year, resulting in a full year dividend of 68.3p. This represents an 8.9% increase in the total dividend compared to 2022 and is Bunzl's 31stconsecutive year of annual dividend growth. The Bunzl Board is recommending an interim dividend of 18.2p, 5.2% higher than the prior year, following on from the Group's 30th consecutive year of annual dividend growth in 2022. The Group remains committed to ensuring sustainable dividend growth, with dividend cover starting to normalise towards the pre-pandemic level. Between 2004 and 30 June 2023, Bunzl has returned £2.1 billion to shareholders through dividends and has committed £4.9 billion in acquisitions to support a growth strategy that has delivered an annual adjusted earnings per share CAGR between 2004 and 2022 of c.10%.

Since 2004 Bunzl has now returned £1.8 billion to shareholders through dividends and has committed £4.0 billion in acquisitions to support a growth strategy that has delivered an adjusted earnings per share compound annual growth rate of 11% over the period.
Bunzl PLC announce 28 year track record of consecutive dividend per share growth continuing with a 7.0% increase in the final dividend
The Bunzl Board is recommending a final dividend of 38.3p, 7.0% higher than the prior year, resulting in a full year dividend of 54.1p. This represents a 5.5% increase compared to the 2019 total dividend, and Bunzl's 28th consecutive year of dividend growth, with the Group remaining committed to ensuring sustainable dividend growth. With the Annual General Meeting held on 15 April 2020, during the heightened period of uncertainty in the early days of the pandemic, the final dividend for the year ended 31 December 2019 was no longer proposed by the Board at that meeting. However, following a better than expected trading performance, the Board decided to reinstate the final dividend for the year ended 31 December 2019 at the same level as originally proposed through the payment of an additional interim dividend for the year ended December 2019 which was paid on 16 November 2020.
Bunzl group announce the reinstatement of the 2019 final dividend of 35.8p per share
As highlighted in the Company's first quarter trading statement issued at the beginning of April, due to the heightened uncertainty at that time relating to the macroeconomic environment in which the Company was trading, the Bunzl Board decided it would no longer propose a final dividend for the year ended 31 December 2019 at the Annual General Meeting held on 15 April 2020. However, we stated at the time that the Board recognised the importance of dividends to shareholders and, as such, intended to consider the appropriateness, quantum and timing of an additional interim dividend payment relating to the year ended 31 December 2019 when the Board had a clearer view of the effects of Covid-19 on the Company's business.
