About Capital One Financial Corp.

Through its subsidiaries, Capital One offers consumer lending products, with a focus on credit card lending, and automobile financing products. Established in 1995 it's now one of the largest providers of MasterCard and Visa credit cards in the world and a leader in the U.S. credit card industry.

Due to its exposure to the financial industry and heavy reliance on consumer spending Capital One had to sharply reduce it's dividend during the recent recession. Payouts have not resumed their pre-2009 levels but are expected to continue increasing.
