(Juniper Networks), incorporated on September 10, 1997, designs, develops and sells products and services for high-performance networks to enable customers to build networks for their businesses. The Company sells its products in over 100 countries in three geographic regions: Americas; Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Asia Pacific (APAC). The Company sells its high-performance network products and service offerings across routing, switching and security. Its products address network requirements for global service providers, cloud providers, national governments, research and public sector organizations, and other enterprises. The Company offers its customers various services, including technical support, professional services, education and training programs.
The Company's Junos Platform enables its customers to expand network software into the application space, and deploy software clients to control delivery. The Junos Platform includes a range of products, such as Junos Operating System (OS) and Junos Space. Junos OS includes a modular operating system with common base of code, a scheduled development process and a common modular software architecture that scales across all Junos-based platforms. Junos OS helps automate network operations by providing a single consistent implementation of features across the network in a single release train. The Company's Junos Space network management platform offers an open, service-oriented architecture (SOA)-based platform for creating organic and third-party network management applications. Junos Space includes applications for network infrastructure management and automation. These include Network Director, Services Activation Director, Security Director, Edge Services Director, Service Now and Service Insight. Its Contrail Networking and Contrail Cloud Platform offer an open-source, standards-based platform for software-defined networks (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV). Contrail Service Orchestration provides automation with service design application, VNF lifecycle management, and service administration and troubleshooting.
Routing Products
The Company's routing products include ACX Series, MX Series, M Series, PTX Series, Cloud Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) Solution and NorthStar Controller. Its ACX Series Universal Access Routers address operator challenges to deploy high-bandwidth services. With performance of 2.56 Tera-Bits per second (Tbps) and support for 1 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), 10 GbE and 40GbE interfaces, the ACX Series addresses the mobile backhaul needs of service providers.
Its MX Series is a family of enterprise class and service provider Ethernet routers that functions as a Universal Edge platform capable of supporting business, mobile and residential services. It is available in both physical and virtual form factors, and its routing, switching and security features allow the MX Series 3D Universal Edge Routers support advanced services and applications at the edge of the network. The MX platforms utilize its Trio silicon. vMX, a virtual version of the MX router, is a MX Series 3D Universal Edge Router optimized to run as software on x86 servers.
Its PTX Series Packet Transport Routers are designed for the Converged Supercore, a supercore packet system, which delivers capabilities based on ExpressPlus silicon and a forwarding architecture that is focused on optimizing IP/multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) and Ethernet. The PTX is available in three form factors: PTX1000, PTX3000 and PTX5000. The Company's T Series routers provide the features and multi-terabit scale that service providers need to handle growth in bandwidth requirements.
Its Cloud CPE is an automated, end-to-end NFV solution that builds on Juniper Networks Contrail Networking and supports cloud-based and premises-based VNFs for both service provider and enterprise network services. This solution includes Contrail Service Orchestration, a management and orchestration platform that delivers and manages virtualized network services, such as virtual security, and the NFX250. NX250 is a network services platform that can operate as an on-premises device running software defined wide area network (SD WAN), and multiple virtual service, from the Company and third parties, simultaneously. NorthStar Controller is a wide-area network SDN controller, which automates the creation of traffic-engineering paths across the network.
Switching Products
The Company's switching products include EX Series, QFX Series and OCX1100. Its EX Series Ethernet switches address the access, aggregation and core layer switching requirements of micro branch, branch office, and campus and data center environments. Its EX switches can also serve as security enforcement points as part of its Software-Defined Secure Networks (SDSN) solution. Its SDSN solution provides end-to-end network visibility that helps secure the network, both physical and virtual.
The Company's QFX Series includes core, spine and top-of-rack data center switches. Its QFX family includes QFX Series Switches, such as QFX10002, QFX10008, QFX10016, QFX5100 and QFX5200. QFX switches can also serve as security enforcement points as part of its SDSN solution. OCX1100, an open networking switch, which is designed to combine a cloud-optimized Open Compute Project (OCP) hardware design with Junos OS to deliver a switching solution for customers that require cloud deployments.
Security Products
The Company's security products include SRX Series Services Gateways for the data center; Branch SRX, Security Policy and Management; vSRX Virtual Firewall; Advanced Malware Protection, and Spotlight Secure Threat Intelligence Platform.
