About Ball Corp.

Ball Corporation (Ball), incorporated on December 19, 1922, is a supplier of metal packaging to the beverage, food, personal care and household products industries. The Company's packaging products are produced for a range of end uses and are manufactured in facilities around the world. Its segments include beverage packaging, North and Central America; beverage packaging, South America; beverage packaging, Europe; food and aerosol packaging; aerospace, and other. Its major product line is aluminum and steel beverage containers. It also produces steel food, aerosol containers, extruded aluminum aerosol containers and aluminum slugs. It sells its packaging products to multinational beverage, food, personal care and household products companies. Its aerospace business is engaged in the design, development and manufacture of aerospace systems for civil, commercial and national cyber security aerospace markets. It produces spacecraft, instruments and sensors, radio frequency systems and components, data exploitation solutions and a range of aerospace technologies and products.

Beverage Packaging, North and Central America

The beverage packaging, North and Central America segment consists of operations located in the United States, Canada and Mexico that manufacture aluminum containers used in beverage packaging. Metal beverage containers are primarily sold under multi-year supply contracts to fillers of carbonated soft drinks, beer, energy drinks and other beverages. As of December 31, 2016, metal beverage containers and ends were produced at 20 manufacturing facilities in the United States, one in Canada and two in Mexico. As of December 31, 2016, ends were produced within three of the United States facilities, including one facility that only manufactured ends, and one facility in Mexico. Additionally, Rocky Mountain Metal Container, LLC, a joint venture owned 50% by Ball and a subsidiary of Molson Coors Brewing Company, operates beverage container and end manufacturing facilities in Golden, Colorado.

Beverage Packaging, South America

The beverage packaging, South America segment consists of operations located in Brazil, Argentina and Chile that manufacture aluminum containers used in beverage packaging. The beverage packaging, South America segment supplies two-piece metal beverage containers and ends for producers of carbonated soft drinks, beer, energy drinks and other beverages. As of December 31, 2016, its operations consisted of 14 facilities, 12 in Brazil and one each in Argentina and Chile. As of December 31, 2016, European operations consisted of 21 facilities throughout Europe with 16 beverage container facilities and five beverage end facilities.

Beverage packaging, Europe

The beverage packaging, Europe segment includes the manufacture and sale of metal beverage containers in facilities located throughout Europe, including Russia. It supplies two-piece metal beverage containers and ends for producers of carbonated soft drinks, beer, energy drinks and other beverages. As of December 31, 2016, its European operations consisted of 21 facilities throughout Europe with 16 beverage container facilities and five beverage end facilities.

Food and aerosol packaging

The food and aerosol packaging segment consists of operations located in the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Argentina and India that manufacture and sell steel food and aerosol, as well as aluminum aerosol containers and slugs. As of December 31, 2016, there were 12 facilities in the United States, four in Europe, two in Argentina, one in Canada, one in Mexico and one in India that manufacture these products.

Aerospace

The aerospace segment consists of the manufacture and sale of aerospace and other related products and services provided for the defense, civil space and commercial space industries. The aerospace segment develops spacecraft, sensors and instruments, radio frequency systems and other advanced technologies. Additionally, the aerospace segment provides diversified technical services and products to government agencies, prime contractors and commercial organizations for a range of information warfare, electronic warfare, avionics, intelligence, training and space system needs.

Other

The Other segment consists of businesses in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Asia (AMEA) that manufacture and sell metal beverage containers; undistributed corporate expenses; intercompany eliminations, and other business activities. As of December 31, 2016, Asia Pacific operations included the manufacture of aluminum containers and ends in four facilities in the People's Republic of China (PRC). As of December 31, 2016, AMEA consisted of four aluminum container and end manufacturing facilities one each in Egypt, India, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
