Friday Email: 02 March 2018

Every Friday morning our lead analyst Mark Riding sends out his weekly run-down and upcoming events in the investor calendar, like this one:

The FTSE 100 has fallen again this week and is down over 100 points and the markets generally have a bearish feel.

The past week has seen the reporting season in full swing and this morning we saw a good dividend increase from the London Stock Exchange Group and a special dividend declared by Mondi. There was plenty of other good news on the dividend front this past few days with good increases and some special dividends being declared too. Direct Line, Jupiter, Keller, Arrow Global, Persimmon Ascential, James Fisher, St James's place and Evraz produced good increases. Direct Line, Jupiter, Derwent London and Persimmon all produced special dividends. Meanwhile, as we expected, Standard Chartered returned to the dividend list.

The week ahead continues to be very busy.
