Friday Email: 05 March 2021

Every Friday morning our lead analyst Mark Riding sends out his weekly run-down and upcoming events in the investor calendar, like this one:

The FTSE 100  has had a good week rising over 100 points.

The past week has been very busy with the general theme of dividend reinstatements continuing. There are very few large dividend increases these days; however FTSE 100 constituent CRH bucked the trend with the 37th consecutive annual increase in its dividend and a 25% annual increase for the 2020 financial year.

The week ahead is also very busy with a large number of companies reporting to the market.

Going ex dividend this coming Thursday with yields in excess of 2% from the single dividend we have Persimmon (4.3%), Evraz (3.7%), Hansard Global (3.5%), HSBC (2.5%), Apax Global Alpha (2.4%) and Microfocus for 2.2%.
