The FTSE 100 has had a decent week and has risen approximately 150 points. The markets like the election result and the FTSE 100 is up over 100 points today (1.5%). The FTSE 250 is up even more (over 4%). Banks, Housebuilders and Utilities have seen strong gains this morning.
The past week has been quiet from a company results perspective and the week ahead remains quiet.
Going ex dividend for yields in excess of 2% this coming Thursday we have Topps Tiles (3.2%), Highland Gold (2.8%), Countryside Properties (2.4%) and International Biotechnology Trust for 2%.

The FTSE 100 has had a poor week, falling over 150 points as the pound strengthens against both the dollar and the Euro. It has risen 10% against the dollar since the August low of 1.20 and 11.3% against the Euro. (1.06 to 1.18)
