Friday Email: 28 June 2013
Every Friday morning our lead analyst Mark Riding sends out his weekly run-down and upcoming events in the investor calendar, like this one:
The market has been struggling to regain an uptrend this week and the ship has settled somewhat, but it is not convincing.
We have actually had a really good week for dividend increases. Early on Domino Printing sciences and Stagecoach increased their full year dividends by 5% and 10% respectively. Then on Thursday we saw one of our previous dividends of the week, Photo-me International increase its final dividend by 20% and promise another 20% increase next year. They generate cash in spades and so for the second year running they also announced a special dividend. They are up from 50p when we highlighted them to 88p now. Another bright spot was Smith(DS) which produced good numbers a a pretty big rise in the dividend of 36%. Greene King managed a 7% increase and Betfair also came in big with a 27% rise in the dividend.
The week ahead looks very quiet on the corporate front, but the highlight for us at DividendMax will be the publication on Monday of our new dividend of the week feature for the Investors Chronicle. It will be a different choice to that seen on Investors Intelligence as I am now able to revist some of the companies that we have highlighted there previously.
The Friday email is delivered to over 20,000 subscriber’s every week, and remains a widely read run-down of recent events and what investors can expect in the week ahead written by our chief analyst Mark Riding.
It’s included as part of the free DividendMax trial.

As we predicted last week the US stock markets have gone into serious reverse for precisely the reasons that we stated. This has dragged down the the UK indices and the reversal is becoming significant enough for me to start feeling very optimistic about yields again. As I write the Dow is down 350 points on the day after a big fall yesterday for a 2 day fall approaching 500 points. Markets can still fall further from here.
